Fuser

Unlocking trusted connections in the EV charging ecosystem

Overview

Fuser is a B2B services platform purpose-built to connect licensed electrical contractors with high-intent service requests in the electric vehicle (EV) charging industry. Originally envisioned as a lead-generation tool, the platform required significant restructuring to meet the standards of a fragmented and compliance-driven market. After the initial founding phase, Derrick’s leadership was brought in to rebuild the product, define the go-to-market strategy, and lead execution efforts to bring the business to market.

Product Overhaul and Market Readiness

The early plan relied on reusing pre-existing software assets to accelerate launch. In practice, the inherited system lacked the workflows, user experience, and functionality needed to support real contractors or attract meaningful demand. A full overhaul of the platform was initiated, rebuilding the user interface and re-architecting the core interaction model between buyers and electrical contractors. New workflows were introduced for project creation, quote management, contractor matching, and subscription access. A focused UX and engineering team was assembled to execute this vision with speed and quality. To support enterprise-level partnerships, features like Salesforce integration and permission-controlled access were also implemented.

Go-to-Market Strategy

Fuser’s go-to-market approach centered on activating both sides of the EV charging ecosystem. On the supply side, contractor onboarding was streamlined through a strategic partnership and technical integration into the National Electrical Contractor Association (NECA) member database to ensure wide geographic coverage. On the demand side, the platform introduced structured intake flows for charge point operators, EVSE manufacturers, and developers seeking qualified electrical labor. These project requests were designed to match directly to available contractors based on trade classification, location, and responsiveness. In parallel, messaging and outreach were tailored to align with regional NECA chapters and other influential networks shaping EV infrastructure deployment.

Expanding the Opportunity Space

While the current platform is focused exclusively on EV charger installation and maintenance, the broader product vision extends into adjacent verticals. The team has developed a strategic roadmap to support related project categories such as solar interconnection, structured cabling, and electrification retrofits. These segments reflect a growing need for licensed electrical labor across the clean energy transition. By positioning itself as a trust-based coordination layer, Fuser aims to expand its role in connecting labor with infrastructure needs across multiple energy verticals.

Current Focus

With a production-ready platform and core go-to-market systems in place, Fuser is now entering its initial ramp-up phase following the official launch at the EV Charging Summit in Las Vegas. Early priorities include expanding contractor coverage in key regions, activating demand-side participation through targeted partnerships, and onboarding member organizations via the NECA integration. Positioned as a trusted intermediary, Fuser is laying the groundwork to connect qualified electrical professionals with meaningful EV and clean energy work as the market accelerates.
